Ladies and gentlemen, I interrupt my regular ramblings to bring you this public service announcement:
There is a safe and enjoyable way to drink coffee in space in a zero-g environment.
If you are like me, you are a complete caffeine addict and you have often wondered how you could support your habit while being in outer space. Coincidentally, there are many people like us at NASA (coffee arguably being the second most important liquid for the smooth operation of space vehicles after rocket fuel), and they have come up with an idea that makes drinking coffee on the ISS not only possible, but enjoyable. I mean let’s face it, sucking coffee from a plastic bag with a straw simply does not cut it.
Here’s PBS Space Time inroducing the official NASA zero-g coffee cup.
